Please review the following choices carefully, refunds and returns can only be processed when eligible items are returned using the appropriate method. If your return is shipped or brought to a store after the timeframes indicated below or without a packing slip, we regret that we cannot issue a refund or send the merchandise back to you.

Returning Marketplace (“Other Seller”) Items

Within 30 days, any item purchased from our Marketplace (“Other Sellers”) can be returned to the Authorized Seller indicated on the packing slip. The refund will be issued once the Seller confirms that the item is in the same condition that you received it, and processes the return through the BN.com system.

If you don’t have your packing slip, locate your Marketplace order on the Order Status page and click the order number. You will see the Seller’s e-mail address in Shipped Items, to the left of Shipment Subtotal. Please email the seller for return instructions.

Please Note: Marketplace orders cannot be returned to Barnes & Noble stores.

Returning Items from Other Vendors

If you would like to return an item that you purchased from another vendor, please check the packing slip for specific return instructions and addresses.

Returning Items Bought from Barnes & Noble.com

If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a refund. We will issue a refund to your original form of payment for items returned within 14 days. All returned items must be in their original condition; shrink-wrapped products must be unopened.

The packing slip in your shipment has specific instructions for returns. We provide a pre-printed return label with our Returns Department Address.

Please Note: Your packing slip is not a prepaid label. You will be required to pay for return shipping. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of the date that you received your order. All returned items must be in their original condition; shrink-wrapped products must be unopened.

Returning Items Bought in Barnes & Noble Stores

To return an item within 14 days of purchase simply bring the item and your cash register receipt to your local Barnes & Noble store for a refund to your original form of payment. Please contact your local store for more details.

Please Note: If you used PayPal to complete your order, the store will provide a Barnes & Noble Gift Card or in-store credit.

Returning Items with a Gift Receipt

A store credit or Barnes & Noble Gift Card will be issued for the purchase price of the item when a gift receipt is presented within 60 days of purchase.

If you are returning a gifted item that was purchased on BN.com, the packing slip in your shipment has specific instructions for returns. We provide a pre-printed return label with our Returns Department Address.

If you have compatibility or quality issues with a NOOK Audiobooks purchase, please call Customer Service at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665). If you are calling from outside the United States, dial 201-559-3882. You may also email your question, or chat with us.

Returning NOOK Devices

You can return your NOOK within 14 days of receipt, with either of the following options:

A.) Call 1-800-THE-BOOK (843-2665) for a return authorization,
OR
B.) Return it to a Barnes & Noble store. – Stores near you

If you are returning a gifted item that was purchased on BN.com, the packing slip in your shipment has specific instructions for returns. We provide a pre-printed return label with our Returns Department Address.

Please Note: If you do not call for a return authorization number and send your NOOK to the wrong return address, no refund will be provided and your NOOK will not be returned to you. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Items That Cannot Be Returned

NOOK digital content and other downloaded purchases, including but not limited to downloadable PDFs for SparkNotes and Quamut products, gift cards, and shrink-wrapped items that have been opened, are not returnable. However if you are having compatibility or quality issues with your content, please contact us for assistance.

Bulk orders of 50 or more copies are non-returnable.

Amazon.com Return Policy
Items shipped from Amazon.com, including Amazon Warehouse, can be returned within 30 days of receipt of shipment in most cases. Some products have different policies or requirements associated with them.

Digital Products
Unless otherwise specified, games, software downloads, and purchases from the Amazon Appstore for Android, the Amazon Digital Music store or the Amazon Video store are not returnable after purchase.
Books purchased from the Kindle Store can be returned within seven days of purchase. Once a refund is issued, you can’t have access to the book. To request a refund and return content, visit Manage Your Content and Devices, select the Actions button next to the title you’d like to return, and select Return for Refund.
Kindle books you receive as a gift are eligible for exchange for an Amazon.com Gift Card before acceptance.
Subscriptions to titles in the Newsstand section of the Kindle Store (magazines, newspapers, and blogs) can be canceled at any time by visiting Manage Your Content and Devices. For more information, see Kindle Magazines and Newspapers
